Toyota Repair: 1988 camry v6 starter problems..., camry v6, clutch pedal

Question
i just bought a 1988 camry v6 and it seems that as soon as the engine gets hot from about 20 min of driving the starter no longer works. i have to either jump start the car or wait for about an hour with the hood poped or open all the way. do you think that this is the starter or something else (heard about a switch on the clutch pedal that must be push for the car to start)? also the car seems to have a stumble on acceleration until just after about 2500rpms. checked the plugs, air filter and oil, all were changed before i bought the car. it does seem to idle up and down a little at about 650 to 750rpms. any ideas? thanks in advance for your help.

Answer
If you can jump start it the clutch switch has nothing to do with it, it sounds more like there is a battery or charging system problem, have the battery tested and make sure the charging system is working properly.
Make sure there is not an air leak on the air intake tube from the air filter to the throttle body, these are known to break or develop cracks and can cause stalling and erratic idle.
