Toyota Repair: Camry 94 stalls, air control valve, foot on the gas

Question
I have a Camry 94 LE (4 Cyl) with 73,000 miles (first owner). The car cranks but stalls imediately unless I keep my foot on the gas pedal. Last time it happened was about 5 months ago. I had it towed once but the it started right away at the shop. Over the winter I kept it in the garage and it hesitated a liitle but it started every time.

Answer
The most common problem is that the Idle Air Control valve gets deposits on it and sticks, this valve controls the idle speed, it's mounted underneath the throttle body and the throttle body has to be removed to get it off.
It can be cleaned and normally this will fix the problem, in extreme cases it has to be replaced.
