Toyota Repair: ignition removal, release pin, toyota dealer

i have broken off the ignition key in the ignition.  i would like to remove the whole ignition so that i can bring it to a locksmith to have another key made.  what is the procedure for removing the ignition?  the auto is a 1997 toyota tacoma, 2wd, manual, 150,000...

Are you able to turn the switch to the ACC position by putting the broken off piece into the switch, I assume that part of the old key is still in the lock, if you get it to the acc position you can remove the lock cylinder by removing the plastic steering covers, there is a small round opening on the lock that has a release pin in it push the pin in with a small screwdriver or punch, then pull the cylinder out.
If all you need is another key contact the toyota dealer they can make a new one from the VIN# .
