Toyota Repair: timing?, corrolla, timing belt

Question
i have a 97 corrolla.  A couple of weeks ago it clicked when i went to start it, the second time it started. slowly it got took more trys to get it started when cold and it would start when it was warm. now it will do this all the time.  Today was the worst, it started after about 7 times and when it did it ran real rough and made more noise than usual. is it the timing belt or the starter?the belt has never been replaced and it has 68000 miles.

Answer
You may have two problems, when you turn the key and there is a clicking noise the starter needs to be replaced, the rough running and noise could be the timing belt or water pump noise, maybe both, it's recommended that the timing belt be replaced at 60,000 miles.
