Tractor Repair: Ford 8n Tractor, ford 8n tractor, mounting bolt

Question
I bought this tractor from a man who said he had rebuilt it completely. I can not keep the generator belt tight. There is one bolt holding it in place, but it continues to come loose when I tighten it as much as I dare. Is there a bracket that attaches to the generator to adjust the tension? Also, is there a up close picture of the generator attached to the engine that I could look at. Thanks for any info you can give me.    Ron

Answer
There were two styles of generators used on the 8N.  The early style from 47 to 49 only had one mounting bolt.  The later style from 50 to 52 had a bracket with a slotted hole and another bolt to correct that problem.  I've heard of this problem before and have seen some inventions that people have put on to keep the generator from moving and the belt getting loose.  A piece of threaded rod and a home made bracket that is wedged between the engine and the generator so that by turning a nut on the threaded rod, it pushes the generator outward.  There are lots of pictures of generators, but I don't know where to find a picture of the generator mounted on the engine.
