Tractor Repair: ihc 1086 tractor, auxiliary fuel tank, transmission housings

Question
How do I get the range gears out of a 1086 tractor.I have a broken tooth on my reverse drive gear thank you

Answer
Remove the seat and floor pan under the seat.  Remove the range transmission top cover.  Drain the oil out of the transmission housings.  Remove the cover on the left side of the range transmission.  If it has an auxiliary fuel tank, it will have to be removed to remove the side cover.  Remove all the hood panels, unbolt the rear cab mounts and raise the rear of the cab.  If you forget to remove the hood panels, you will break the windshield when raising the rear of the cab.  Remove the bottom cover of the speed transmission.  Split the tractor between the speed transmission and range transmission, and roll the rear half out from under the cab.  The range gears and shafts can now be removed.
