Tractor Repair: case 885xl 1991, clutch fluid, clutch pedal

 I overhauled gear linkage at Christmas last year.  i have a case 885xl going fine yesterday.  Loaned to brother yesterday.  today cannot shift into ranges without grinding.  clutch seams to have very little resistance.  I put clutch fluid in and it improved a little.  Any suggestions?

it sounds like either the master or slave cylinder is leaking fluid is there any sign of leakage around the clutch pedal also inspect fly wheel bell housing for signs of fluid
try to bleed the slave cylinder this might sort it for a bit but if you have a leak it will happen again
