Tractor Repair: IH 986 Left hand lower link leak, gasket maker, o rings

Question
I have a 986 IH that is leaking hydraulic oil from the torsion shaft that runs thru the lower rear housing.  I have changed the O-rings (with Case-IH parts) and added spacers to reduce slop in the left lower arm mount.  There is still play in the in the mount.  One of the two O-rings replaced is inside a retaining ring, but I don't have any outer seal from the retainer to the housing.  Should gasket maker be used?

Answer
You can try it. i am really not clear on what you are asking. If the load shaft still has slop and you are afraid that it is going to leak then you might have to change the shaft. Check to make sure grooves arent worn into the shaft where the orings ride. Start with a little oil and see if it leaks.
