Car Stereos: 2000 Suburban, tire pressure monitoring system, electronic signal

Question
I have a 2000 suburban with out the driver information center.  Can I easily add the DIC by just buying the module from a junk yard and plug it in?  I would think the harness already has the plug there.

Thanks

Answer
Hi Jason.

Well thats a good one. i would ask some one with more expertise in the area but as far as i know.

All Suburban models have a standard GM tire pressure monitoring system, which uses an electronic signal on the driver information center to warn of a low-pressure condition.  plus a driver information center tells you when your oil level is low, and when oil needs to be changed. so (im just using common sense here) the vehicle should be equipped with all kind of sensors and what not to be able to use the DIC.

But what I would do if i was you id call the dealership and ask them for sure if your able to do that.

Sorry if the info its bad, i tried my best :).

Cheers.
