Tractor Repair: Farmall cub tractor, clutch disk, clutch pedal

How can I free up the pressure plate on a Farmall cub tractor that has been laid up for several years. Thank you

Hello,

  If you have a clutch that won't release because it sat for a long time, the clutch disk is stuck to the flywheel or pressure plate.  You can try starting it in gear and holding the clutch pedal in while hitting the brakes real hard to see if you can break it loose.  If the brakes don't hold well enough or if the clutch is stuck real bad, then you might have to chain it to a tree or something to hold it.  If it still won't break loose, then it might have to be split to get to the clutch.
