Tractor Repair: Massey ferguson 1100, massey ferguson, shift forks

I have a 1971 Massey ferguson 1100. I bought the tractor 3 months ago, the tractor was shifting fine when I bought it. Now it's stuck in 1st gear. I can't get it out of gear. What do I need to do to get it shifting again? I can shift the tractor into reverse but that puts the tractor into 2 gears at once. . The shifter will only take reverse.

You will need to remove the shifter cover and realign the shift forks, place them both into neutral.
This is a pretty common problem in tractors with quite a few hours on it or one that have been used alot shifting into different gears. ie, loader work.
When you reinstall the cover make sure that both levers are in neutral also.
