Tractor Repair: Ford 600 No power, valve guides, distributor cap

Question
I have a Ford 600 that runs but has no power. I checked the compression and all cylinders are 110-120. The motor consistently fouls the same 2 plugs.

Answer
Hello,

There could be weak spark to the cylinders that are fouling the plugs.  If the fouled plugs are dry and carboned, give it a complete tune up with points, condenser, rotor, distributor cap and plug wires.  If the plugs are wet and oily, possibly oil is getting into the cylinders from worn valve guides.  With the compression pretty much the same on the cylinders, the rings are probably OK.
