Tractor Repair: international 684, injector lines, fuel gauge

Question
Just purchased and ran for 1 hour.  Died as if out of fuel. Gauge shows near half tank.  Can see fuel in tank.  Wont' start.  Any suggestions

Answer
If you ran it for an hour and it just died then you need to first check the shut-off cable make sure it didn't come loose and let the arm of the pump shut it off. If that is ok, check if it has a glass bowl on the fuel filter see if that is full of fuel. If the bowl is empty then you have a restriction in the supply line to the pump.  Next loosen the line from the fuel filter to the injection pump and pump the transfer pump you should have a steady stream of fuel with minimal bubbles. If the fuel is good then you might have to crack  one of the injector lines crank it over to see if fuel is reaching the injectors. When its just about starts, stop and tighten the line it should start on its own. If no fuel is present at injectors then your injection pump might have an internal issue.
