Tractor Repair: Ford 2000 3cy 1962 flomatic, battery cables, ground cable

Question
The tractor was totaly rebuilt 3 years ago.
The tractor won't start. I changed the starter and the silinoid, charged the batterie and it still won't turn over even on boost on the charger. It makes a grrrrrrrr sound when I turn the key. What should I do next.

Answer
  Hello,

Have the battery load tested.  Even if you charged it and have the charger on boost, it's not going to start if the battery is bad.  Either that or try a different battery.  Make sure the battery cables are in good condition, and the terminal clamps are clean and tight.  Make sure the ground connection is clean and tight where the ground cable grounds to the tractor frame.  If it still won't turn over, then the engine is locked up.  Try to turn the engine over by hand either with the fan or the flywheel.
