Tractor Repair: loader problem on case 1290, piston seal, hydraulic filter

the loader on my 1290 which is an aftermarket westendorf which plugs into a
remote on the back, has virtually no power. i replaced the hydraulic pump
and agreat many o rings and still it can't seem to do anything under a load. it
is driving me crazy.if i pump and pump the lever it will slowly respond each
time but only for a second. please help. thanks ryan

  Hello,

  First make sure the hydraulic filter is clean, then check the pressure at the remotes with a gauge.  There should be about 2000 psi.  Since you have already replaced the pump, the only thing left would be the relief valve.  If the pressure is good and it still won't lift, then it would be a blown piston seal in a hydraulic cylinder on the loader.
