Tractor Repair: bleed fuel system on ford 2000, throttle levers, central queensland

Question
Danny,I have a ford 2000 tractor which has run low on fuel and will not start. It was still running when I shut it down when I realised fuel was low.Could you please outline bleeding process required and steps needed.Location is Central Queensland. Thanks Mark.

Answer
Mark follow the line from the tank to the filter on the filter should be a bleed screw open it prime the lift pump till clear fuel comes out shut the screw.
Then go to the injection pump if the pump is an inline pump you will have 2 bleed screws just under the fuel lines again open them pump the lift pump till clear fuel comes out close the screws.
Then open at least 2 injection lines crank the engine till fuel comes out close the lines and then crank again till engine starts.
If the fuel pump is a rotary pump this type of pump has 2 bleed screws on it 1 half way up the body the other on the cover with the throttle levers come out of open the lower one till fuel comes out close it and then do the upper one the same way then close bleeder these are very small bleeders 1/4" sae spanner.
Open the fuel line as per the inline pump at the injector.
