Tractor Repair: MF 230 clutch, clutch disc, box blade

Question
My tractor has been sitting for several weeks. I started it and tried to put it in gear.  It seems that the clutch will not disengage.  I can't put it in gear with the engine running.
Any suggestions I might try before I put it in the shop?

Answer
Hi Charlie
I have got quite a few clutches unstuck buy starting the tractor in the highs gear with some kind of ground engagement implement on the three point I always used a box blade but a plow will do the same thing. You find a good level place & as you are driving hold the clutch down drop the implement into the ground just as it start to load open the throttle wide open I have found very few that this would not break the clutch disc loose on. Hope this helps
