Triumph Repair: Triumph Oil Change, triumph spitfire, oil leaks

I have a 1977 Triumph Spitfire and I was wondering how much oil it needs for an oil change.

Hi Brooks,

The Spitfire takes 9.6 US pints of oil for the engine and filter.

Be sure to pre-fill the filter and disable the ignition by removing all of the white wires on (+) side of the coil and spin the engine with the starter until you see oil pressure on the gauge. Then reconnect the white wires on the coil and then you can start the engine and check for oil leaks.
