Triumph Repair: Exhaust Problems, coolant level, droplets of water

Question
Whenever I start my Spitfire it spews some kind of fluid out of the exhaust pipe, is this normal?

Answer
Hi Brooks,

Sometimes under the correct conditions a car can blow droplets of water out the tail pipe and that water can seem to be black or have black stuff in it. This is usually just condensation of water vapor.

You should however keep an eye on the coolant level to see that you are not loosing coolant. Under some conditions a car engine can be leaking coolant into the combustion chamber in small amounts and when started it will blow it out the exhaust on start up.
