Triumph Repair: 76 triumph spitfire, moss motors, triumph spitfire

hi, i need to know if its possible to take my 76 triumph spitfire transmission and use it with a 1970 triumph spitfire engine. im replacing my engine and i want to know if i can use an engine out of a 1970 spitfire. need to know if the mounts are the same and if i can use my old transmission.

sorry Nick, I have never tried to make that swap so I can't tell you for sure. You may try to contact Moss Motors on there tech line as they are good with the engine and transmission numbers and which fits which cars. They have a web site and a toll free number.
