Triumph Repair: Spitfire drivers door lock, latch, bolts

The drivers door will not open from inside or outside and is closed we have managed to get the door card out but cannot open door, we have tried removing front door bolts hoping to pull door off but no joy, the door is now proving very difficult any suggestions on how we can proceed? thank you

Hi David,
Remove the inner door panel on the other door and note the amount of travel of the sliding lever on the door lock assembly, so you can see if the lock is moving all the way on the stuck one. Then note the small lever that trips the latch to see if it is moving all the way. If not you can see how to force it all the way and then with the latch release forced all the way just take a large block of wood on the inner part of the door at the latch and a large hammer to knock the door open. I have had many stick but never had one not unlatch.
