Triumph Repair: !979 Spitfire Door Lock, latch assembly

Question
The passenger side door lock seems to lock every time I close it.  It will open from the inside but not the outside.  When I open the passenger door and close it from the outside the lever works but does not release the door lock, if i reach in and operate the inside lever it opens fine. Is this an adjustment?

Hi James,
No adjustment but it sounds like something is disengaged or broken. The only way to find out is to remove the door panel and first look to see if you can see anything wrong and if you can't you will need to remove the latch assembly.
