Triumph Repair: coil over springs, oil shocks, gas shock

Have you ever fitted coil over rear suspension on a Spitfire  or got any advise on any mods.

Hi Ray,
I have not put any on myself but have seen several Spitfires that I worked on with them installed to help raise the rear due to a weak leaf spring. Also seen several install "gas over oil" shocks to help sagging springs. I don't know what part number shocks they used but my guess is, all you need to do is take one of your shocks to a good auto parts store so they can match a coil over or gas shock up to it.
If it already has gas over oil shocks on it now, my guess is you will need to go to coil overs or replace the rear spring.
