Triumph Repair: diff pre load, ameritech, practical experience

Question
i have a 1977 1500 spitfire trying to find out some tech info on the collapsible spacer type diff.
would like to know the backlash is supposed to be and the pinion pre load should be?

While I could quote the specs out the books, I unfortunately have no practical experience in rebuilding one of the spit diffs.
