Triumph Repair: how to remove the starter motor, oil pressure switch, spitfire 1500

Question
Hello,

Please help,

How is the starter motor removed on a 1500?

Is it possible without removing the fuel pump?

The oil pressure switch (hope it is an original)
doesnt let me pull the motor as back as it would need
so that I can free the front side of it from the flywheel.

If alternatively I move the motor counterclockwise ,still
there is not enough clearance in the flywheel-bell housing
area. It seems that the front part of the motor is too long, or I am too stupid.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

George

Answer
George,
The Spitfire 1500 starter should drop out the bottom as soon as you remove the cable and the two bolts. If someone has installed something to hinder that, just remove what ever is in the way. The fuel pump does not normally need to be removed.
