Triumph Repair: carburator, charcoal canisters, degree elbow

Question
Hi i am working on a 79 spitfire 1500 91 CID single Stromberg cd4t i think. Anyway the previous owner removed the carburetor and now i cant figure out where all the lines go. there is one twords the cab. one facing up near the carburetor-to-intake gasket. one that faces to the front. one that connects to a line that goes into the valve cover. and another one that has a female threaded piece that has a metal line with a 90 degree elbow. which is the primary fuel line? there is also a fuel lie coming out of the gas tank that leads near the exhaust manifold. also i cant figure out where the lines go to on the charcoal canisters. if you could help that would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Jerry,

The main fuel feed to the carb comes off the fuel pump on the drivers side of the block and typically is routed around the valve cover on the front side of the engine.

The tube off the valve cover normally has a T-fitting and connects to the large fitting on the Carb and the carbon cannister.  There are also lines running from the fuel tank vent to the carbon cannister, most likely the one you see near the exhaust manifold.

Cheers,

Jim
