UK Car Repair: diagonstics light, vauxhall corsa sxi, ebay

Question
hello i own a black y reg vauxhall corsa sxi 1.2 and my diagnostics light has lit up on the dashboard i took it to my local garage ant they did a reading of it. the fault came up as a fuel misfire i just want to know what this is, how much it will cost to fix, what has caused this and is my car safe to drive. thank you very much for your assistance i look forward to hearing back from you.

Answer
car is safe to drive, apart from possible damage to the catalsyt caused by the unburnt fuel, expensive but not dangerous.

The "fuel Misfire" as opposed to a "spark misfire", means an injector is causing a misfire, either buy not spraying enough fuel, spraying too much fuel or because it is clogged and spraying inefficiently.

Injectors can be bought for around £100 if you shop around, fitting is about an hours labour.
(buy the injector yourself, some garages will charge £200 for a single injector, you could get one off ebay for £30 or so...)

Can you relay the actual error code given by the diagnostics?
 EG    "P1054"

(also injector cleaner "STP Injector cleaner" added to a tank of fuel can restore good operation of an injector)
