QUESTION: Hi Paul
I am trying to find the settings for the timing for a vauxhall astra 1.4 1994 L reg as I think it is in need of tuning.  Can you assist

ANSWER: Hi Phil, as far as I am aware there are no settings for your car because the fueling and ignition are controlled by the ECU. you say it needs tuning, can you tell exactly me what is the problem with it ?(describe in as much detail as possible ,what, when, how often etc) and we will go from there  - let me know - Paul

The car has not been run for a few months and it appears sluggish but then picks up power.

Hi again, Does the car idle properly? When you accelerate slowly does it eventually pick up? Idle the car and very slowly press the accelerator, if you feel a vibration, the engine has a misfire and is only running on 3 of the 4 cylinders, There is an engine malfunction light on the dash display, is it on? Does it come on and go off when you turn the key? - Let me know - Paul
