UK Car Repair: How to open a locked trunk without a key, jaguar xj6, boot lid

Question
I have a 1995 Jaguar XJ6. To make a story short, the car was locked with the remote and the key was left in the trunk. The road service tech opened the car with a slim jim. The trunk button does not open the trunk since the car is still armed and I can't figure out how to open it to get the key out. It is my only key. Aside from ordering a new key from the dealer, is there an emergency switch somewhere inside the car or any other way you can suggest that will allow me to open the trunk?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Answer
The only way I can think of is cutting a hole underneath the rear licence plate. You can then manually operate the lock link.  The hole 40 to 50 mm Dia should be just left of centre 70mm from the bottom of the boot lid.  The hole can be plugged afterwards.  It may be simpler to get a key and you should have a spare anyway.
