Question -
i have a 1.2 corsa with an induction kit on and has been running fine, until i went on holiday. i came back 2 weeks later, and now sometimes when i get to a junction it wil cut out, the car sounds like it is going to cut out so i keep revving, but eventually it will cut out. also if i drop a gear and put my foot down, it doesnt move, it bumps n chugs and then kicks in. if i am gentle through the gears it isnt to bad, but otherwise it is running really poorly. i have changed spark plugs and put a fuel cleaning thing in, but still no change?

Answer -
In order to run, a good engine needs only sufficient fuel/air and a good spark! The poor running and lack of power can have a number of causes. First fueling; Check the air filter and inlet are not restricted in any way. Then, check that the fuel filter is not blocked. If all seems well, see if you have good spark using a spark tester. These are the simple checks, beyond these it may be because of a very weak mixture -perhaps caused by an large vacuum leak- or low fuel pressure - perhaps caused by a faulty fuel pump. Let me know what you find. Good Luck

Answer
The only way to find the filter is to trace the line back from the engine compartment. Clearly you will need access to the underside of the vehicle, so be careful, make sure you have the correct jack and stands. I have to say though that it would be unlikely that the pump would fail under the circumstances you describe. When you last stopped the car, it would have had fuel supply all the way up to the manifold and so even if the pump didn't activate on restart, there should have been enough fuel to start it, even if it was just for a minute or so!
