Good afternoon.  I have an Astra Envoy and I am having problems with my dashboard lights.  When I switch the headlights on the dash lights go very dim and you can only just see them.  Just wondering whether you could tell me what might be wrong.  Thank you very much.

You may have a dimmer unit that automatically reduces the intensity of the dash lights when the headlights are on, and/or, a separate dimming control switch? Did you check the owners manual? For the former, you could modify the wires from the switch so that the feed from the headlamps is connected directly to the feed that goes to the dash lights. For the latter, simply by-pass or renew the dimmer switch, if it isn't working.
