UK Car Repair: How to remove rear door panel ???, clip tool, collision damage

Question
How to remove rear door panel on a 2002 buick les sabre. To put window back on track.

Answer
I am sorry that it has taken this long to get back to you.
A minor hardware issue forced me to freeze my e-mail for two weeks and I was unable to answer your question in as prompt a fashion as I normally do. As for the LeSabre...

I have yet to take the doors apart on a 02 LeSabre, however, if they are anything like their counterparts, it will be simple. I suggest you buy a book for the vehicle to make sure. I will also warn you that unless you are able to properly align the glass and plan on installing the track guides that are ether worn or broken you will be doing this a lot. I would take it to a body shop and allow them to fix the door. Body shops are better than a mechanic for the simple reason that they are refitting glass all the time for collision damage and can usually get it all sorted out the first time round.

If you do decide to tackle it yourself you will most probably end up buying a $30 GM panel clip tool and at least $45 in guides and a horizontal seal.

Good luck and happy motoring,

Regards,

John
