Volkswagen Repair: Shutting and Blinker, vw jetta vr6, turn signal switch

Question
I have a 2001 VW Jetta VR6 with 88000 miles on it.  Lately, when I am accelerating between 35 and 40 MPH my car shutters and it seems as though the shuttering is originating on the front passenger side of the car.  Once I get over 45 the shuttering dissipates.  I have had the aliment, balance and a tire rotation done and the condition has not improved. What do you think the problem is?  Also, when I use my blinker and complete the turn sometimes the blinking continues, faster than normal.  Sometimes is occurs without me using the blinker.

Answer
The blinking problem is an easy one, but the shuttering one is a little unusual, and confusing.  The blinker problem is the actual turn signal switch in the steering column, behind the steering wheel, and requires a very special air bag release tool, and a special static electricity ground so the air bag doesn't deploy when it is removed.  The static electricity tool may, or can be used or not used, but EXTREME care needs to be exercised to remove the air bag, and without the special release tool, you won't get it off.  I would recommend your local best Volkswagen dealer for the signal switch replacement, or at the very least, a Volkswagen specialty repair shop.
The wheel shuttering, or shuddering might be one of 2 things that I can think of off hand right now, and they are; (1) the right side, (passenger side), wheel bearing...get the wheel up off the ground and pull on the bottom of the tire, if it moves, even a little then it's the bearing assembly, at least, and the other thing, (2) is the CV joint.....look in the spaces of the alloywheel, and see if the back of the wheel is covered in grease.  That will mean it's the CV joint, because the CV boot split and lost all of the grease..a long time ago.  I expect that should cover it, although it is still possible that there may be a tire issue.  I have had several cars demonstrate the same symptoms you describe, and the tires were separated inside.  I'd say cover all of your bases, and check those things, and you should have a smooth ride again.  Hope this helps, good luck.
