Volkswagen Repair: 2001 VR6 GTI, hydraulic ram, body construction

Question
Car was in a front end collision where a guy ran a red and I T-boned him at 5mph. He was doing about 50 and ripped my front bumper off also setting off both front airbags.

Question is it looks like the front bumper support was pushed in and down to the left about 2inches. Can the frame be straitened again for a "straight ride" or is this a lost cause?

Answer
Hey Nick; Sorry to hear about your collision.  I would say go to the local body shop that specializes in "monocoque"/uni-body construction cars, and see if they don't have a fixture , or table that uses really big chains to tie the car to the ground, or something stationary, and another set of chains on a hydraulic ram to pull the body back to straight.  I think if you ask one of these specialists to look the car over, and if they can, they should be able to fix your car.  The 2.8L VR6 GTI is my second favorite Volkswagen of all time.  It seems a shame to let another one go away, off of the road.  They should be able to get the air bags set up again too.  Hope this helps, Nick.
