Volkswagen Repair: exhaust system for 1994 Jetta VW, muffler system, limited funds

HELP!!!
my muffler system for my 1994 Jetta VW III GL is completely broken.
My car has two mufflers a rear and front with a pipe that connects them
expressautoparts.com has a question of what is the chasis range.
The site says - 084-500 for a 1996
does this mean anything up to 1996 or after?
a mechanic at a dealer did not even know
Im desperate, a college student on very limited funds... what do I do?

Thanks for the question! Sorry to say, I don't know much about Jetta exhaust systems. Did you check with your local parts store to see what kind of price they can give you. Remember! No shipping charges when you deal locally and you can return it if it's wrong. Good luck with that!
