1997 VW jetta GL...

We disconnected the battery and now when we connect the battery the alarm goes off and the car doesn't start..HELP!!!!!!

Put the key in the drivers door lock, and when you connect the battery, lock and unlock the door. If your battery is good the alarm should stop and the car should start.  If your battery is weak, the alarm will start when you try to start the car.
