Volkswagen Repair: Brakes on Golf GTI, gti vr6, dust boots

Question
I see you have experience up to 1997 but can probably help. I am having a friend help me replace all rotors and pads on my 2000 GTI VR6 and am wondering if there is anything we should be prepared for/watch out for. The new pads are Ceramicool ceramics (without the wear sensor), new rotors are Brembo. My friend has experience working on 80's VW's so I'm a little nervous here...Thanks!

Answer
Go for it! Your brakes are easier to fix than those old VW's.  Just remember to clean up any rust with a file or wire brush, and put on a thin coat of anti-seize.

Also be careful not to damage the dust boots, when you push the pistons back into the calipers.
