Volvo Repair: parts loction, fuel pressure regulator, coolant temp

Question
QUESTION: i have a 1985 volvo 240 turbo with CIS Fuel injection and i was wondering if i have these parts and where are they located Hall sensor, Radio Suppression Relay, engine coolant temp sensor, turbo boost overpressure switch also can i use a noid light to test my injectors?

ANSWER: Sam, Hall sensor is on the distributor.  Radio supression is the black relay by the coolant bottle, coolant temp under the intake manifold towards the rear of the head.  Boost switch is under the brake pedal area.  Noid light will do nothing for mechanical injection.  Whats the problem with the injectors?  Roger

QUESTION: well the car will start when it is cold but after i leave it idle for about 5 min it dies and wont restart also right when i start it cold and floor it and boost kicks in it dies and wont restart but if i don't floor it, it will idle for about 5 min as i said?

thank you

ANSWER: Sam, sounds like a warm-up regulator or whats normally called the fuel pressure regulator issue.  There can be so many other things wrong also.  I would spray carb clean at the injector holders to see if those are leaking.  May be a fuel system relay issue also.  Too many things and without checking and seeing the car, its hard to diagnose properly.  Roger

QUESTION: do you think you can give me a list of what i should check and how to test them i will really appreciate it

thank you

Answer
Sam, I already told you what to do first.  As far as the regulator, its just a knowledge thing.  You may want to have a Volvo tech help you on this.  I cant do it on this end without seeing the car.  Too many things that seem to be wrong to pinpoint.  Roger
