Volvo Repair: Engine System Service Urgent, limp home, air mass

I just bought a 99 S80 with 48,000 on it.  It drove great for 2 weeks.  Then this warning message along with the check engine light came on and the car runs really rough like it is not getting enough gas.  At first you could shut the car off and re-start and the lights would stay on but would run right.  Then after a few miles turn the car off and re-start and lights would go out.  A few days later same scenario.  This went on for about 2 weeks, now all lights on and car runs rough and can't get it to run more than 20 mph (limp home mode my dad says).

Wendy, I wish you would have asked me about that car before you bought it.  They are nightmares.  There is no way for me to tell you what is wrong without hooking the car up to our Volvo Scanner.  It may be an air mass meter but like I said, no way to tell without scanning.  I suggest a Volvo shop to help you out.  Dont go to Joe's garage.  They have no clue at what they are looking at.  Roger
