Volvo Repair: Volvo S70 electrical problem, airflow sensor, volvo s70

Question
QUESTION: My wife has a 2000 S70 with 156,000 miles.  Per my dealers recommandation, I changed the wiring from the battery positive to the fusebox (at the fusebox was corroded, and some broken wires) the cable from the battery positive to the starter, and the starter to the alternator.   I didn't change any other wiring.  Now the car won't start - the starter turns over, but makes a strange sound.  The battery has 12.65 volts, and was out of the car for 30 hours.  I don't believe I have left anything off, but am stumped.  What could be wrong?

ANSWER: What kind of strange sound?  See if you forgot to  put one of the wires on the pos battery post.  Roger

QUESTION: Initially, the car started, ran about 10 seconds, and died.
The engine or starter sounds "tinny" - rather than the roar you normally have on startup.  I re-checked the wiring and can't find anything.  But after I try to start the engine, the airflow sensor on top of the engine still vibrates, and the engine system main relay is pretty warm.  Is this normal?

Answer
Nathan, well, there may be a bad coil but its hard to say without looking at the car.  Relays are generally on the warm side but I have seen some that will burn your fingers.  If it gets that hot then there is a problem.  I suggest a Volvo shop to help you out.  Roger
