Volvo Repair: 740 overdrive, volvo owner, solonoid

Question
QUESTION: I've read in one of your answers that it was possible to bypass the solenoid relay. I'd like to know how it has to be done. Could you give me a sketch of the wiring ? Should I use a fuse then ? How much ?
A French Volvo owner
Thanks

ANSWER: Dumercq, There is a plate that you buy and you remove the solonoid from the transmission.  You can buy it from www.ipdusa.com, hope this is what you are looking for.  Roger

QUESTION: Sorry, I didn't get you exactly. What I'd like is how to bypass the relay : a sketch of the wiring would help me.
I suppose it would go from the gear level down to the solenoid in the transmission. (or would it be from under the floor where the gear level goes thru it.) Thanks for helping.

Answer
I am not able to do that on this site.  Why do you want to bypass the relay?  THere is only one wire that goes down to the solonoid.  You can access the wire by removing the cover to the gear shift but the easier way to bypass the solonoid completely is to remove it and install that plate I told you about.  Roger
