Volvo Repair: door lock rod, interior door panel, metal bracket

Question
I was removing the interior door panel on the right front door of my 1992 940 gl and the (door rod? - threaded at the top and it's the part I screw the door lock plastic piece onto) dropped down through the hole and into the door. In trying to bring it back through the hole, the rod  and small metal bracket (which has a small hole in it)disconnected from the "assembly" and I don't know how it goes back together. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

If the rod has two 90 degree bends at the end, the rod is just angled to start it in the hole and manipulated through the hole around the bends- kind of hard to explain, but easy to do. Just don't force it. You may have to take the doorpanel off to get the right angle of attack.
