Volvo Repair: air mass meter, fuel pressure regulator, coolant temp

Question
i have a 95 940. very hard to start when cold or been sitting overnight. i have to use starting fluid to help it start faster. it will only start with the air mass meter unplugged. if you plug it up while it is running the car will cut off. once the car starts and run a few minutes, i do not have any more problems all day. it starts perfectly after the first time. thanks

Answer
Oscar, there are so many things it can be but Im leaning towards a coolant temp sensor or fuel pressure regulator.  Even though it works after its warm, the meter still may be the culprit.  Dont EVER use starting fluid.  IF you need to use anything, use carb cleaner.  Roger
