Volvo Repair: low pressure on the turbo and stalling after engine cleaning, wastegate actuator, rubber hoses

Question
Hello Roger, Many thanks to you and Randy at Independent for getting my 95 940 running in tip top shape. I am writing to ask you about my 94 940 turbo. I cleaned my engine with gunk and it would not start until I changed the distributor cap, plugs, and plug wires. It starts now but easily stalls while driving and giving it no gas. It will idle fine but when I rev it up I notice the turbo no longer goes past the halfway mark. I have looked for a disconnected hose but can not locate one. Could water ruin my turbo? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Answer
Hi Roger, Glad you enjoyed our work.  The stalling is most likely a throtle cleaning or possibly an air mass meter issue. The turbo may be a few things like a hole in the rubber hoses or the wastegate actuator may have gotten disconnected somehow.  Its a watercooled turbo so any water that may have gotten inside(which I doubt) will be fine.  Best thing to do is set an appt and we will check out the car for you.  Roger
