Volvo Repair: 940 B230FT wagon 144k dealer maintained, power stage, bell housing

Question
1991 volvo we discussed before, you suspected secondary ign problem after high rev shutdown, coil not hot, how do I test power stage? ohm test to coil was .4 ohms 1 below normal, cap, rotor, wires, plugs ok, Car run good until warm and hard accel to 5k then it acts up and sputters, hard driving is only for testing, trying to set a code, no luck, secondary side of coil checks good, how do I test RPM sensor?, thanx in advance, James

Answer
James, I failed to notice 230FT on your model.  Have you checked the over boost switch?  I have never had to test the RPM sensor.  Ive only had bad ones.  You test for spark and if it doesnt show spark you replace it.  Have you checked the condition of the speed sensor on the bell housing?  If that is frayed, I have seen this condition happen.  Roger
