I have the self leveling Nivomat system. Do gas shocks replace the ones I have on the car now. The shocks are in the middle of the springs.

Thank you again

-----Question-----
I Have a 1991 940se with Multilink Suspension. The rear of my car is sagging and I would like to know how the rear springs and shocks work together. Can the springs hold up the car if the shocks are no good.

Thank you
-----Answer-----
William, they work together.  Most likely the shocks are bad.  I havent seen springs go bad on these cars at all.  Replace the rear shocks with Boge Gas or heavy duty.  Roger

Answer
William, Wow, a 940 with nivomats. I dont see that very often.    Now we are in the big bucks.  It would be cheaper for you to buy new Nivomats.  You would have to convert the shocks and the springs to a heavier set up.  If you are interested in the conversion, try www.ipdusa.com and they will have the information for you.  Roger
