Volvo Repair: 1998 v70 backseat seatbelt locked/frozen, volvo specialist, child saftey

we put down the passenger side of our back seat and now we go to raise it back up and it stops half way as the seat belt is locking.  We are unable to pull out the seatbelt further, we've tried the red child saftey switch to no avail.  Any suggestions would be helpful.

Scott, the only suggestion is to replace the seatbelt unit.  You cant really mess with those, as they are a safety issue.  Roger

Scott, They arent too bad but you have to get the parts from the dealer.  If you have a Volvo Specialist shop in your area, they would be the best bet for a cheaper labor rate.  I would guess 2-300 dollar range but dont quote me on that.  Have a Merry Christmas.  Roger
