Volvo Repair: 2001 S60 Brake pad replacement, channel lock pliers, pad replacement

Question
I have a 2001 S60 2.4t and have to replace the rear brake pads before my upcoming inspection.  I am pretty technical and want to do it myself.

If you could give me a walkthrough that would be great!

Also i have heard you should always front and back at the same time even if only one set needs it, is that true?

Answer
Paul, I dont know where you read that, but that is false.  Only replace the pads that need replacing.  Fronts, Rears, etc.  There are fairly easy to do.  take the wheel off, pry the pads back a little, remove the clip.  Remove the 12mm bolt and lift the caliper.  With a channel lock pliers, or c-clamp, push the piston all the way back in.  Apply the pink paste to the pads and put them in.  simple right?  Roger
