Volvo Repair: 1990 Volvo 740 GL - Starting Problems, volvo 740 gl, fuel pump relay

Question
Sometimes my volvo cranks right up.  Sometimes it takes a while to start.  Other times it will not crank at all, i jiggle the battery or wait a while and it cranks right up.  Sometimes it stays running and sometimes and dies when I put it in gear.  Today it will crank but never start.  Through all of this the engine has idled rough.

Answer
Janey, that could be a number of things.  These are just a few.  Fuel pump relay, ignition relay, ignition power stage.  Engine speed sensor, fuel pump check valve.  This is one of those instances that I would have to see the car to properly diagnose it.  I suggest a reputable Volvo Shop.  Roger
