Volvo Repair: 855 Window regulator, regulator problem, regulator repair

Question
Hi Regis:
Thanks for all your previous help.  My '96 855TGA has been running well.  I had a problem where the driver window was not aligned when closed, leaving a gap at the top, back corner.  I tried messing with it and probably bent something, as my mechanic replaced the front guide that had fallen off, but said the regulator was bent.  I couldn't afford the regulator repair at the time so left it as is.  It's getting progressively worse, though, and I'd like to try to fix it myself, but with guidance this time!!
Can you give me the steps needed to repair or replace the regulator, if indeed, the symptom appears to you to be a regulator problem.  When I got the door panel off, I couldn't figure out how to get the regulator out, and apart from the glass.
Thanks,
dave

Answer
to remove the glass it will just pry out of the regulator arm with a screwdriver.the ball end of the regulator arm will just pop out of the blue clip holding it to the arm.the regulator is the whole large silver metal part on the door panel it will need to be in the mid position to make it easier to remove from the door.there are several 10mm bolts holding it to the door panel.
